Format

  • CSV (/datos/v1/<series>.csv): comma-separated, with a decimal point, in UTF-8; one row per date.
  • JSON (/datos/v1/<series>.json): the details of the series (source, licence, method and citation) and the list datos, with fecha, periodo and precio for each date.
  • Stable addresses: the identifier of each series does not change. If the format ever changes, it will be published under /datos/v2/, and v1 will stay for a while.

The field names and their values are in Spanish, as published on the Spanish site:

  • fecha, the date: in weekly series, the Monday of the ISO week; in daily ones, the day.
  • periodo, the period: the ISO week (2026-W39) or the day.
  • precio, the price, in the unit of the series.
  • unidad, the unit, as published: €/kg, €/100 kg, €/t, €/l… (canal is carcass weight, and vivo, live weight).
  • fuente, the original source, to cite with the date.
  • producto, variedad and ambito: product, variety and area, with their Spanish names.
  • frecuencia: semanal (weekly) or diaria (daily).
  • licencia, metodo and cita: licence, method (how each figure is computed) and how to cite it.
  • primera and ultima: first and latest date.
  • tendencia and cambio_pct: the latest change, sube (up), baja (down) or repite (unchanged), and by how much, in %.

Examples

Terminal:

curl -s https://preciosdelcampo.es/datos/v1/gva-clementinas-clemenules.csv

Python (standard library only; with your own name in User-Agent, because the site's firewall blocks the one Python sends by default):

import json, urllib.request
request = urllib.request.Request("https://preciosdelcampo.es/datos/v1/gva-clementinas-clemenules.json",
                                 headers={"User-Agent": "my-program/1.0"})
series = json.load(urllib.request.urlopen(request))
latest = series["datos"][-1]
print(series["producto"], latest["fecha"], latest["precio"], series["unidad"])

Excel (Microsoft 365, or 2016 and later): Data → Get Data → From Other Sources → From Web, paste the address of the CSV and, in the preview, choose Delimiter: Comma. If the prices come in without decimals (on a computer set up for a decimal comma), in Transform Data change the type of the precio column with Using Locale → English (United States). Refresh All brings in the latest week.

Terms of use

  • Cite the original source of each series (it is in the field fuente) with the date of the figure and, if this site helped you, “Compiled by preciosdelcampo.es” with a link.
  • Generalitat Valenciana: Creative Commons Attribution (CC BY). Spain's Ministry of Agriculture and Ministry for the Ecological Transition: reuse allowed citing the source and the date, without altering the data (Royal Decree 1495/2011). Lonja de Salamanca: Diputación de Salamanca, CC BY 4.0.
  • What this site changes: it averages the provinces that quote each variety (Generalitat Valenciana) and the filling stations that sell diesel; for the Lonja de Salamanca, it takes the midpoint of each price range, joins the series that changed name and leaves out the weeks without a session and the figures more than three times the median of the neighbouring sessions (typing errors in the archive). The Ministry of Agriculture's prices are as published. Each series explains its method (field metodo, in Spanish).
  • For information only: not a recommendation to buy or sell. If in doubt, the official source prevails.

Delays

The Generalitat publishes each week a few days after it ends. The Ministry of Agriculture runs a few weeks behind and sometimes revises earlier weeks: the whole series is downloaded again, not just the latest week. Today the Ministry's data go up to week 43 (19–25 Oct 2026), 2 weeks behind the current one.

Diesel prices are daily since 2 October 2026, the first day this site stored them. The Lonja de Salamanca meets on Mondays: its series carry the date of each session.

For AI assistants (MCP)

The same data can be queried from Claude, ChatGPT, VS Code, Cursor or another assistant with this MCP server: search for a product, the latest price with its source, the history, diesel by province and official deadlines. Free, with no sign-up and no key.

https://preciosdelcampo.es/mcp

MCP over HTTP (“Streamable HTTP”), with no sessions and no authentication. Read-only: it changes nothing and does not store your questions. We count, without the IP address, which tools are used and which program connects (privacy policy, in Spanish).

How to connect it

  • Claude (web or desktop): in the settings, Connectors → Add custom connector, with the name “Precios del Campo” and the address above.
  • ChatGPT: with developer mode turned on, in the Apps & Connectors settings, create a connector with the address above and no authentication.
  • Claude Code:
claude mcp add --transport http preciosdelcampo https://preciosdelcampo.es/mcp
  • VS Code (.vscode/mcp.json):
{ "servers": { "preciosdelcampo": { "type": "http", "url": "https://preciosdelcampo.es/mcp" } } }
  • Cursor (~/.cursor/mcp.json) and other clients with the same format:
{ "mcpServers": { "preciosdelcampo": { "url": "https://preciosdelcampo.es/mcp" } } }

Each assistant's menus change often: if you cannot find the option, look for “MCP” or “custom connector” in its help.

Tools

  • buscar_producto: Finds series by product, variety or province, in English or Spanish, and gives their identifier and latest price.
  • precio_ultimo: Latest price of a series or a product, with its date and week, the previous figure, whether it went up, down or stayed the same, the source and the link to its page.
  • historico: A series between two dates: weekly since 2017 in the Valencia region and since 2019 for Spain; daily for diesel.
  • gasoleo_hoy: Agricultural diesel on the latest day: the average for Spain, for the Valencia region and for the province you ask for, with its rank among provinces.
  • plazos: Upcoming official deadlines for farmers in Spain (Common Agricultural Policy, taxes), with their source.

Each answer carries the source, the licence, the date of the figure (for weekly prices, the week: they are not today's prices) and the link to its page on the site. It says whether a price went up, down or stayed the same; it never recommends buying or selling. The tools find products by their English or Spanish names (orange or naranja, olive oil or aceite de oliva) and answer in Spanish: sube, baja and repite mean up, down and unchanged. Full guide, with examples (in Spanish).

Updates: the weekly RSS feed, in English, and the Telegram channel, in Spanish.
